Trying Anything and Experimenting Together

"Say 'Yes' upfront and give ourselves permission to fail."
You never know what God will do when you act on faith.

Let's Get Out Of Our Own Way

Ever found yourself exhausted trying to convince a ministry committee or church leadership team teams that an event idea was a worthy endeavor?  As a church, it can be easy to get in the way of exciting, new ideas for fear that it'll backfire or make the church "look bad" on social media.  Our mentality at The Well Community Church is that it's more fun to run with scissors at times.  When someone in the church family shows passion for an idea, we always want to look at how we can help that individual explore where God might be calling them even if success isn't a guarantee.  The great men and women of the Bible rarely had an insurance policy on every new mission; we should be eager to jump at opportunities to exercise our faith through encouraging the ministry of others!

Meeting Unplanned Needs

Being flexible and open to risk means responding quickly to emerging or unplanned needs.  Whether aiding a family who is about to get evicted or throwing together a "Secret Santa" gift charity for the entire town at the last minute, we've seen how prioritizing God's call over our own aversion to risk leads to big things.  God continues to work through our willingness to step-up even when there's no plan for success and not guarantee of institutional gain.  It's not about us; it's about God's and He deserves all the glory!

"Crazy" is Authorized

Sometimes it pays to be a little crazy and to try new things.  Being a church whose identity surrounds being unconventional, we are open to trying new things.  That ranges from different types of events (like Messianic Passover Seders) all the way to insane fundraisers (like the Polar Plunge).  Anyone can do a bake sale or attend a weekend conference, but we want to hear about the weird stuff and try the unique things.  Have a thought?  Speak up and let's see where we can fit it in!

Intimacy

Special events don't just have to be parties or fundraisers.  Sometimes it can be about something much deeper.  A time of prayer or a special unplugged worship night is sometimes just what the soul is craving.  Whether it was something planned for weeks or an idea someone had last night, we want to be responsive to the Holy Spirit pulling us to come together whenever God calls.  By responding to God together, we are drawn closer together.
