Hurry up and wait???
Wait, really??? Most of us cannot say patience is one of our traits. Most of us have as much patience as the cheese on cheese balls I ate the other day. They were supposedly healthy. Healthy equals with a hint of cheese which was really no cheese at all.
There are times in our walk as a believe when God is calling us to something. He has revealed it and we are excited. Then it seems like we are at a standstill. Nothing propelling us forward into the new adventure. It’s easy for us to get frustrated. The thing is this could be a time of preparation. It could be a time of rest before things go full throttle. It can also be the time you are trying to figure out why they call cheese-less cheese balls, cheese balls. Just kidding.
In all seriousness though, these are the times we should ask what God is trying to reveal to us. What is he trying to show us in that moment of in-between?
In 1 Samuel 16 we find David as a young man being called out and anointed to be the next king. But it was many years before David would leave the farm and even more before he would take the throne. God used that time in the field, tending the sheep to prepare David’s heart for what was to come.
It takes faith when we can’t see the next step. Thankful we have a God that we can certainly lean into, being confident that His ways are always best.
May the Lord bless you, Pastor Doug
